The Treatment Court Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Sawyer County Hybrid Treatment Court, including case management and supervision of treatment court participants. This involves assisting participants in navigating the criminal justice system and local treatment providers, holding the participants accountable, utilizing behavioral-change tools, and assisting them to reduce their likelihood of recidivism. Participants in a recovery court program experience substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health disorders; therefore, they require services from an individual who is both empathetic and compassionate. The Coordinator should have knowledge of the criminal justice system and act as a neutral party between the participant, the District Attorney’s Office, and defense attorneys.
The Coordinator will track and manage program referrals; provide ongoing assessment, treatment planning, case management, and crisis intervention; set staffing and meeting agendas including the creation of reports for the recovery court team; apply and enforce recovery court policies and procedures; communicate regularly with participants, their employers, families, the courts, and treatment providers; refer to & have knowledge of available community resources; document and record all participant and program outcomes, case notes, and status updates; enter and maintain case information in the electronic database; and other duties as assigned.
